Booking | Booking reports and statistics

POS Online provides reports relevant to the performance of your booking business. Each kind of report will have each meaningful insight for each booking activity of your accommodation such as promotion plan, social content plan or listing plan, price policy for booking agencies.

The below guide will show you how to use and apply these reports for your business.

Open "Booking" menu.

Step 1: Check Booking statistics

  • Select Booking Statistics.
  • Select timing you want to get the statistics: by Today|This week|This month or any custom time range (not greater than 100 days).
  • The statistics of the selected time will be displayed by the table and visualize the value contribution of each item by the pie chart.
  • This statistics will recap the booking revenue based on the actual staying date.
  • There are 3 kinds of booking statistics report:

1. Booking statistics by Room:

This is the booking revenue performance of your business by booking rooms. It has the good insights into the occupancy rate, revenue performance of each booking room and how well an accommodation place is operating.

2. Booking statistics by Room type:

This is the booking revenue performance of your business by types of booking rooms. It has the good insights into the customer behaviour and the seasonality of your booking business. Apply this statistics for:

  • understand the customer insight:

    • high occupancy rate room: travelers always want to find the signature place to stay on their vacation, so finding out the favorite room types having the highest occupation is so important to promote your accommodation. Since this makes your customers feel curious and motivate them to place the room reservation very early to have the change to stay in the best-selling room. Beside that, to maximize the occupation of favorite rooms, you should run promotion plans to encourage customers to place the booking, especially in the low seasons. With this demo data: The only change in the year: get 1/2 half price for Beach Front 3 with December bookings.
    • low occupancy rate room: if you want to promote room types having the low occupation rate but turning out the high profit on every single night, you should run promotion plans to motivate customers to place the booking, especially in the high season. With this demo data: Happy Family Holiday: free 1 dinner for Family room bookings in this summer.
  • forecast the room occupancy: the booking operation is effected by the seasonality clearly so that to forecast the booking plan for the next year plan, you should base on the historical data of the same season. This will support you to balance the resource plan (staffs, foods, etc.) between the high and low season or have the promotion to optimize the booking performance for the low season.

  • support for the expansion plan: to have the construction plan for the new room for your accommodation place, you should select potential types of booking room having the high occupation rate and also turn out the good profit. With this demo data: you should invest in building the new beach front or beach view room.

3. Booking statistics by booking Agencies:

This is the booking revenue performance of your business by booking agencies. It has the good insights into where the traffic comes from. Apply this statistics for:

  • define the booking room listing: to optimize the booking performance and increase the occupancy rate, you should base on the total nights of each booking agencies providing for your accommodation to set the listing priority. Beside that, to prepare the booking listing plan by agencies, you should also use the data of the same period in last years to define the specific room, the specific number of nights for the specific booking agency. With this demo data: Booking and Agoda are 2 booking agencies contributing the most number of nights for your accommodation, so you should put these agencies on the top priority in your plan to maximize the opportunity.
  • define the pricing policies: with some agencies that having the annual contract with your accommodation, the booking price for these agencies might be different with the official booking price. So that to maximize the booking revenue, you should define the pricing polity that attracts the booking agencies to motivate them to provide the traffic, while optimizing the profit and occupancy rate.

Step 2: Check Payment statistics

  • Select Payment Statistics.
  • Select timing you want to get the statistics: by Today|This week|This month or any custom time range (not greater than 100 days).
  • The statistics of the selected time will be displayed by the table and visualize the value contribution of each item by the pie chart.
  • This statistics will recap the actual revenue based on the actual amount get from guests by the payment method.
